For most services, you do not need to be home. All the information about your septic tank can be provided by the health department. Typically, your presence will only be required if you are needed to move cars, etc. so we may access the tank.

You should schedule a septic pump every 14-24 months for most healthy 1500 gallon tanks. Our technicians can assesss your tank's health during the pump and let you know if you should have your tank pumped more frequently.

During the inspection, a certified inspector checks the condition of your septic tank and all connecting components. Any leaks or failing parts will need to be repaired before the tank can pass the inspection. All home sales in Massachusetts require a passing Title V dated within two years of the sale.

To keep your septic system healthy and free of costly repairs for years, only flush waste and toiletpaper down the drain and try not to use too many harsh chemicals in your toilets, sinks, or showers.

The following should never be flushed:
- Cat Litter
- Papertowels
-Cigarette Butts
- Diapers
- Feminine Products
- Plastics

The following should never be put in the disposal or sink:
- Oil
- Paint
- Paint Thinners
- Gasoline
- Grease
- Insect or Weed Killer

A well-maintained septic system may last up to 15 years. If the tank is not properly maintained, a few years of neglect can lead to costly repairs or a full replacement.
